mentalinc: I assume you're meaning the aussie users?

Mates in Melbourne regularly log off for the day if there is any mention of thunderstorms.

They’re all on nbn fibre to the node (copper to home) and right before thunder booms they’re cut off. One guy has overhead and still get cut if it’s too windy or raining.

Aus’s rollout really screwed the pooch, we’ve got it much better. Only disappointing part is they have all the datacentres due to population, even though we often get better connections than majority of the locals.

So glad you've got Fibre with a real ISP ;)

But, as you can see I edited your post because you uploaded all your images, in full size to Dropbox. I also had Photoshop open and because Dropbox made me download the images instead of simply viewing in the browser I did have a bit of fun. Please, think of those on capped or slow broadband and resize your images and host on Geekzone in future.

see, you actually put the 2degress text on the Vodafone modem, such a shame..

The case never dreamed back in '99 that it would live to see this day....  :P

I hope it went to a good home (or museum).

a case merely holds the contents inside ;)

Previous place I lived: Fibre to outside of apartment, connected to ONT and Wi-Fi on the closest bedroom to the hall. Pretty useless setup.

Gosh moving sucks.. i forgot how bad it was!

That combined with the unfortunate timing of weather and a monthly release last night I'm shattered from the last few days...

Have gone through 3 different cable runs and 2 sets of switches getting things setup here, but now it's atleast manageable...

I clearly do need to tweak my window scaling for this new connectivity... so It's still kinda sad, I'm calling my provider to complain! and then following up with @ChorusNZ to demand hyperfibre comes faster ;)

Once on fibre you can never go back! Mind you how fast is your Office connection?
