shanes: Have heard that the lockdown is purely to keep people inside while Downers are racing around installing 5G towers

I'd heard that it was to keep people inside while they change the batteries in the birds. That is, of course, completely ridiculous; they're really upgrading them all to wireless charging.

That explains the weird bird behaviour at the moment.

Their batteries are getting flat with no-one to replace them.

I think they are just keeping their heads down right now in case someone blames them for Covid 19?

That must be why birds sit on power lines.

Actually, that bird isn't charging as they only have hold of the "ground" cable :)

I've heard it was a secret plan by Cloud providers to increase uptake :)

I think that might be backfiring on them a bit, seems they might not be as scalable and flawless as they make them out to be... and with the many vendors involved in even simple stuff, what would have taken the old inhouse guys hours to do, is taking many many days to accomplish...

My on-prem customers are happy right now :)

I must admit though, I do really like Teams :) To be fair to them, some providers are seeing 770% increase in demand, and they are still (mostly) up, even if they are a bit shaky.

It's probably not reasonable to expect that level of instant scalability :)

My daughter did a stealth-visit to my "home office" (aka the spare bedroom) either late last night or early this morning:

Nice One Covid....

I feel your pain. My husband and I were supposed to be off on our cruise today! I joked for ages that they'd probably cancel the cruise as a April Fool's Joke. I guess the joke's on me now...!
