Rikkitic: Also an early road racing game I can't recall the name of.

Does this ring a bell?

It was a time trial on a mountain road, not a race against other cars. You could choose from several high performance vehicles. If you completed the circuit successfully and fast enough, you were congratulated at the end and told you could keep the car. That is all I remember of it. Yes, Test Drive is the one.

Had a mac at primary school. Remember playing a lot of Spaceway 2000 (Still had all the high scores years after I left school), Simcity2000, Glider.

I also spent a lot of time on Microsoft Flight Simulator. Surprised I forgot it.

You didn't graduate to F15 Strike Eagle? I played that on a green screen...

Starcraft/Broodwars, CounterStrike, various racing games, Tank, Lea sure suite Larry, and a text based adventure game called MUDding on the university’s library computers after I learned how to DosBoot them from an old school 3.5” floppy disk ☺️

Too many to name but a couple that left a lasting impression were:

* Commander Keen (for some reason this was the platformer I remember playing the most... not prince of persia or duke nukem, though played them a fair bit too)

* The original wing commander - still remember playing it at a friends house, it started a long time love of space combat sims... I'm still waiting for Star Citizen though!

* Civ 2 - The number of hours I sunk into this was truly mind-blowing...  #noregrets though

* Myth the Fallen Lords - toss up between this and warcraft 2 for favourite multiplayer at the time; M:TFL just takes it though because of the community at the time and sheer crazy fun of it.

* EDIT: and geez how could I forget Fallout.  I still have the box somewhere and still remember buying it in a certain games store up near the top of Symonds street.
