Last week, when I popped down to Subway to grab a sub for brunch, they had 3 staff on, and there were maybe 6 people in the line before me. I waited for about 10 minutes, and maybe one person got through... what had happened is that a lady had sent an order for 8 subs through via the website, then rang the store to confirm they had received it. When she got to the store, she was told that they hadn't received the order. Realising that I would probably be waiting for another 10 minutes, at least, while the people in front of me were served their 12 or 13 subs... I left. This is (although a little extreme) pretty typical of my experience of Subway of late. It just takes forever to get in and out... and as sbiddle says, the pricing is starting to get a little expensive... :)

I only order through the website, i havnt lined up in quite some time. Order, wait 5 minutes then walk down and its ready. Only once has my order been "lost" in which case i didnt have to join the back of the line, they made it right then and there.. it is getting quite expensive but i allocate $10 a day on lunch anyway.. Has anyone tried Quizno's subs in australia, now they were expensive!!
The local (courtenay place) subway is generally quite good but it still depends on whom you strike in there. I have been told that the margins are not great and even one more tomato slice and extra olives can really hit the bottom line for the franchisee.
I have been to a couple of others around and had them totally stinge out on the cheap stuff like lettuce and assemble it rough and squashed and never went back.
My favourites were Meatballs, Spicy italian and Club.
And did you notice the lovely Christmas theme, ho ho ho..
There is just that something about a fish subway that makes me just wanna puke, so two days are scored-off but anyway Friday is my day off the gym and my gorge-out on junk-food.
