This sort of thing really p*sses me off.

I don't care what the delivery person gets paid, if it's not enough they can quit. Don't go stuffing this rubbish in letterboxes that clearly say not to just to make your job quicker/easier. The OPs letterbox is plastered with "No Junk Mail" and "Addressed Mail Only" signs, no-one can say with a straight face that they didn't see the signs.

They shouldn't have to talk to anyone to make this stop, it shouldn't be happening in the first place.

I feel your pain.  In my case it's the local community newspapers, which goes directly to recycling.

Maybe I'll just remove the mailbox.  I don't really need it.

Have to wonder what sort of parent would allow their kid to work for those stupid low amounts.

my son gets around 60 a fortnight and it pays for his phone and a couple of streaming services and it gets him out of the house, as he is on the supported living benefit , it is one job he can do so he is quite proud of it.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Yeah going to the companies on the media won't work. It's only a couple of specific marketing groups that do it on behalf. (About as effective as abusing the overseas call centres for the failure of the people paying their bill to answer the phone, but in reverse)

Looking at the box, Piece of cardboard with a sharpie covering at least the top slot you have to lift - so the postie gets a laugh too.

'For ignoring unsolicited advertising requests - Your employer has been notified of your actions'

It'd soon get the hint across :)

Reading another thread and doing a search there appears to be no legal requirement for a letter box.... just a street number.

So I am wondering where a physical delivery is required if a courier delivery option could be specified rather than using NZPost for things like RUC labels, Rego labels, driver licence, bank cards, etc.

Then I could get rid of my letter box and the junk mail flyer problem.

My first ever AM radio network connection was with a 1MHz AM crystal(OA91) radio receiver.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

You are assuming the flyer delivery people can read 😀

I have a feeling There some obscure old paper law that says post originally being a servant of colonial HM mail meant you did.

But since manifested into forgotten lands, and covered by requirements for delivery dude to identify the recipient.. rather loose.
And I believe they soon let you know if you don't with a door knock after returning every mail to sender or bin as a result

That would be parents that are trying to instill some good work ethics and teach them responsibility, so they grow up to be hard working dedicated contributors to society.  Yes the pay is terrible, but it's better than sitting on their butts playing video games all day.  There is also very little earning options for kids <14 these days, minimum wage has killed that.  My son did this for 2 years, rain, hail, snow, and blistering heat, saved up for his own phone, and it eventually helped him buy his first car.  My hats off to kids out there doing something, despite the low pay.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation
