Actually it would allow me and my fiancée to start watching TV again. Our apartment has a defunct UHF cable running all long the living room and nothing in our actual theatre room. The cable actually got damaged and cut from when we had recent building renovations(we aren't the only ones complaining about this and there are a few long stories too about other things). It would go a long way and we'd have more reasons to use the theatre room for quality time.

I'd give it to my mum whose normal SmartVU box seems to be failing...

This is timely. I would replace my parents SmartVu dongle which has proven unfit for purpose when watching cricket as it overheats after a couple of hours and stops working.

I was there yesterday, wish I'd known then so I could have taken a photo of their setup.

I'll have to get creative.

This is an approximate representation of my current setup:

Something better than this would be useful.

Bananabob:

So we have this real old Dish TV T1050 so it would be great to replace it with the SmartVU. The Android TV being an added bonus.

Yup, that's our setup too.  Attached to a dumb 20-year old 32" TV. Does @bananabob's photo work for a second dip?

My TV is stuck at the corner where the antenna point is. This would be great to free the TV from its “shackles”so it can be at a more ideal position.

Good timing!
Having problems with TV Mosaic and they’ve shut down so no more updates. :(
This little box would be a nice replacement.

This would be a great upgrade for the built in smarts of my LG TV which has stopped updating for 3-4 years now.

I'd use it to replace our ancient DVB-S box Digistar 811- it's done well for its time, but I'd love to be able to watch "live" TV at a nice resolution. Would primarily use it for the streaming option as it would be nice to be able to watch TV that doesn't skip/jump every time the dog bounds across the deck (cable runs under the deck and is prone to vibration). And it has to be rebooted every so often or else the picture becomes.... umm.. don't know how to describe it but it ain't nice.

Skippy has nothing on him.

As for a pic, well, not much point, system is that old and poor resolution, any pics of it come out poorly as well. But I'll try...

At the moment I'm getting by with the Freeview built into my old TV (the old Freeview, not the newer on demand one) and an old Chromecast.

Currently use Chromecast Ultra or PC connected via HDMI

So would be great to have something like this for freeview

CPU: AMD 5900x | RAM: GSKILL Trident Z Neo RGB F4-3600C16D-32GTZNC-32-GB | MB:  Asus X570-E | GFX: EVGA FTW3 Ultra RTX 3080Ti| Monitor: LG 27GL850-B 2560x1440
