Very quiet one for me, unless you count the neighbour's fireworks that almost put the Sky Tower to shame for noise. I heard the first few then just drifted off and slept through the rest.

 

Hopefully 2021 is better than 2020 - although 2020 started out good and ended okay, shame about the crap in the middle!

2021 is the only year this century with two consecutive two-digit numbers (20 + 21). Obviously previously 19 20 and next will be 21 22...

Happy New Year. I’ve been willingly badgered again - but wondering if there’s a typo in this year’s NY badge. There’s now two different Happy NY 2020 badges on the GZ list - maybe the fireworky one should be 2021?

Happy New Year Geekzone.  Wellington put on a stunner today, made for a great night on the waterfront to watch the fireworks.

 

 

Why do they always show the Auckland fireworks for New Year and not anywhere else? IMHO the Sky Tower spraying sparks is nowhere near as interesting as the airbursts that other places get. Heck, Orewa Beach has better fireworks than the Sky Tower.
