I use a 50 gallon steel drum and a lighter.

I am sure your local council would have something to say about that - home incinerators were banned a long time ago due to air pollution problems.  Reinventing them is not a good idea.

They have to catch you first!

Always light your fire at night, so no one can see the smoke in the dark.

Rubbish incinerators yes,

But in the meantime a proliferation of new devices have appeared and are still allowed

  • outdoor pizza oven
  • brazier
  • outdoor fireplace
  • hāngi or umu.

We have had a Fellow's Powershred PS-70 for about 20 years. It has served us well. However last week I had to strip it all down as things became stuck. Well the paper dust and shredded bits it had collected in the machinery and electrics area was horrendous and it was a wonder it did not catch on fire. After a good clean with a Dyson V7 handheld and blow with compressed air it is performing like new again.

Highly recommend.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

I'm thinking about a lawnmower now.

Perhaps there's a market for an attachment for your lawnmower that turns it into a giant shredding machine?
