mattwnz: People can potentially make some huge savings. I doubt supermarkets will be too happy. The Commerce Commission imo should have had such a website setup for consumers that supermarkets were required to feed their prices into due to the lack of competition. At least as a temporary measure until competition increased

and that would have taken a year and cost the tax payers millions

Is anyone else having a problem opening the grocer website? I have tried three different browsers on my older iPad including one with a built n VPN and none will open the link which I googled to make sure it was the correct one. I get a blank page.

@Eva888 latest version of iOS? It doesn’t seem to be a sort of site that’ll work on an older version of iOS. Works totally fine on all my devices.

The site is technically broken as it doesn't contain any content; it's all fed in using JavaScript (breaking the rules of progressive enhancement). Check that you don't have anything blocking scripts.

True the old iPad won’t update to the latest iOS. Such a faff setting up the new one which remains partly unfinished so I revert back to the faithful old iPad which generally works with all other sites. Opened fine on a laptop.

I haven’t got my normal iPad with me to test on that but the site works fine on my iPad Pro, so looks to be a matter of YMMV.

Where the site did cause some issues followed me granting the site permission to use the camera for scanning (Android phone). This led to Chrome apparently using the camera every single time I opened a new tab no matter what the site, going by the green indicator light. Managed to get it sorted, and hopefully not a widespread problem.

I do like the way it offers to add to desktop on Android phones, which creates a standalone “app”, not tethered to Chrome. Even shows up in the app drawer.
