Amazon Au have done it to me again.

Ordered a $16 vacuum adaptor for a DeWalt sander on 12th August and ten days later it still hasn't been sent.

Last time was freight free and it took six weeks to arrive, so this time I paid the $6.91 freight, but still hopeless delivery.

Expected delivery is 30th September!

Latest order from AliExpress only took 7 days.

I presume it was a marketplace item rather than a supplied by Amazon delivery? I try and only buy the Amazon supplies items they usually handle shipping themselves rather than sending from China ala AliExpress rebadged.

Amazon AU are delivering consistently in 5 to 8 days for me. I only buy things that get free shipping and stocked / shipped by Amazon. About a year ago one thing I ordered took weeks but otherwise they've been good. Amazon USA take about 2 weeks give or take.

I guess it's what you're buying. Can you share the link?

I’ve had similar experiences. my latest order was placed on 11 August, for three Amazon essential items all of which were in stock. No progress beyond “order received”.

If I view the item again, it says free delivery by 1 September, that’s eight days away. But they’ve been sitting on this order for twelve days. It’s basically false advertising

What happens if you message customer service? My orders are always pretty promptly dispatched, within a couple of days of order.

Their first response, which i think was from AI, was that the order was about to be shipped and would arrive by 29 Sep. This is against an original delivery forecast of 22 Aug.

When I managed to chat with an actual person, and pointed out that if I clicked buy again, it offered free delivery by 1 Sep, they handled it very well. They canceled my original order, then applied a $60 discount against a replacement order i made. I was able to use this to select express delivery which is now meant to arrive this Friday.

My lesson for future orders is to screenshot the promised delivery date and contact customer service if it didn't arrive by then

Had a chat with their support last night.

They "apologised most sincerely for the delay" and stated that it wasn't in local stock. I asked why they are still advertising that it is in stock with delivery on the 28th. No real answer, but for an extra $7 freight I could get it by the 28th.  Said I wasn't overly impressed with delivery times as my last order also took six weeks to arrive.

They offered me a $10 discount on my next order.

Temu has been winning all shipping speed to me recently. Amazon AU has lost the plot with things getting cancelled from the order removing the free shipping for being over an amount, or else taking an eternity to arrive as in this thread with them shipping from elsewhere and not AU despite it showing a reasonable delivery time.

I am suspecting that it might be delays because of batteries but I have just waited it out and not bothered to contact them about it.

Neither of the items I have ordered have batteries.

I have stayed clear of Temu due to all the bad press it has received. It is worth looking at now?

I have had no problems with temu other than the constant gamified crap it gives you in the app. If you enter with a link from shopback to get the cashback they do not give you the game rubbish and it works like a normal store.

Just to finish off my example

The replacement order i made on Sunday afternoon was despatched on Monday and arrived today. Obviously a good result but somehow adds to the frustration that they had the items sitting in a warehouse in Australia (delivery details show all items originated in Sydney) but for whatever reason couldn't or wouldn't send them when I ordered with free delivery.

Amazon AU is really starting to p*** me off now.

I got this email this morning,

"We're encountering a delay in shipping your order. We'll make every effort to get the delayed item to you as soon as possible. We apologise for the inconvenience."

The item is still listed as being available with quick delivery times.

"FREE delivery Monday, 22 September to New Zealand on eligible orders over $59

Or fastest delivery Wednesday, 17 September"

Probably time to give up on them.

I still wonder if it's product specific as my Amazon AU orders arrive quickly. Also your copy and paste seems to have messed with page formatting @k1w1k1d
