That's the plan! In reality I suspect that Mum will manifest some dust somewhere and then complain that I haven't cleaned the house properly.

She will first wipe her finger across the top of the door, blow the dust in your direction and ask what that dust cloud is and whether you can still see her? So be prepared! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‰

Anticipating this (and more) my mother hasn’t set foot in any house I’ve lived in since I left home almost 40 years ago!!

To be fair, half of that time I’ve lived here so not likely she’ll pop round!

We’ll be shutting the gate on the madness outside and relaxing with the dogs, sheep and cows.

Have a good time everyone. A warning to anyone heading to Canterbury: the roads are crawling with police in unmarked and marked vehicles. I’ve seen more of them over the last week than in the last year. And seen lots of people getting unwanted Christmas presents from them!

First Xmas ever that I don't have to cook. Will be spending it on the Coral Sea on a ship but caught a cold so not that cheery coughing away. Who forgot to pack the strepsils?

Merry Christmas everyone. Enjoy the day and keep it happy. Count blessings.

I’m hoping you all have cause for joy and contentment. I’ll be socialising more than usual and eating more than I should but otherwise hanging out at home.

Oh no! I got Covid in 2022 but fortunately it cleared up and I tested negative on the morning of Christmas Day. It's never great to be unwell, but especially during holidays... :(

Thanks and worse is coughing half the night so I spend it on the balcony so I don’t disturb. Middle of the night could see the Milky Way going all the way down to the horizon. It’s usually up above so very pretty.

Have a happy and safe festive season one and all. I'm spending time in Gisborne with my tribe, my parents and my brother, his wife and my niece from Australia. Lots of beach visits, lots of good food and drinks and a whole heap of relaxing is on the cards.
