Seriously, though. Atari 2600 and an original speak and spell. Both still work flawlessly. Although, the Atari looks terrible on a modern TV.

There are a couple of ways to get decent video out. The one that I have ordered and is sitting waiting for time over winter is a board that goes under the video chip and outputs something called lumacode that my scaler can then deal with to make a nice HDMI signal from.
When I was in IT , there were horrors of old equipment . :-)
When others were on Win10 ...
one customer was still on DOS on his POS PC's. Untill the software support for the program he used refused to help anymore . Im surprised they kept supporting it for so long . He got a good long run from that old software .
Another customer used a PC Direct Win95 PC to run the security software for a multistory apartment building . Computer died & all the swipe locks on apartment doors defaulted to unlock .
Alot of the stuff I own is 25-30 years old. Washing machine, lawnmower , weedeater , chainsaw, fridge , stereo/hifi gear , tools .
I doubt the new stuff will last that long .
My mum went through several kettles over a period of 5 years or so, all purchased from the warehouse. She had collected all the receipts as each return resulted in another receipt being stapled to the list. Somewhat understandably they were a bit hesitant to replace the last one saying that it must be her fault that she had gone through so many of them, most of them lasting almost exactly 12 months. She had to point out that a few of them only lasted a few months and one was even returned when she was in a queue of other people returning the same model.
We got her a new one from briscoes the other week for when her last warehouse kettle dies.
I have a pair of Roberts SS-80 II speakers and they were manufactured in NZ. they were inherited from my grandfather.
I also have a vintage rega planar 3 turntable from the 80s. the tonearm was replaced late 1998 by my grandfather and I replaced the belt and cartridge. It still goes very well today for a fully manual turntable that takes 33 and 45 rpm records.
