EB always fail at pricing second hand games and consoles. Whenever the brandnew item drops in price they alwaqys forget to lower the price of the seocnd hand one.

I actually spotted this PS3 pricing in a store too - right next to each other just like on the website.

Especially as auctions are unconditional!

Lesson: don't ever let your house get sold as a mortgagee sale - the banks really don't care what they get for it as long as it covers the outstanding mortgage!

my guess is if it doesnt hit reserve (ie cover cost) once the bank (or whoever) takes control of the house you'll be able to view.

the other explanation is there isnt too much owed to the bank so the reserve is blinking low and it will probably sell for nuts and the bank can't care less as you said

I've bought more than one property before, in fact. Have you? Have you bought at a mortgagee sale before? It would be the more usual case that you don't get access to the property since the mortgagee doesn't own the property.

Actually, the New Zealand Property Law Act 2007 imposes duties on mortgagees exercising their power of sale. Section 176 provides:
A mortgagee who exercises a power to sell mortgaged property, including exercise of the power through the Registrar under section 187, or through the Court under section 200, owes a duty of reasonable care to the following persons to obtain the best price reasonably obtainable as at the time of sale:
a. Current mortgagor;
b. Former mortgagor;
c. Any covenantor (including guarantors);
d. Any mortgagee under a subsequent mortgage; and
e. Any holder of any other subsequent encumbrance.
