Personally dont drink it much apart from Red Bull and vodka after i have hit the wall on beers(ie i dont want to drink more).

Usually gives me an extra kick before going home to sleep it off in a couple of hours or so.

Also very occasionally ill slurp on a V on the way home from Mt Hutt if im buggered from a hard day boarding. I have almost fallen asleep on those long straight roads several times and the caffeine gives you a slight buzz for 30-45 mins required to get home!

The force is strong with this one!

Just worked this up in Excel if anyone is interested.
This is the Nurtitional Information of the New 'V' Pocket Rocket.

And the long list of Ingredients in the "Energy Blend":
Fructose (3000mg), Taurine (500mg), Caffeine (160mg), Guarana Extract (72mg), Glucuronolactone (63mg), Inositol (12mg), Acidity Regulators (Critric Acid, Sodium Citrate), Flavours, Colour Caramel (Derived from Wheat), Preservatives (Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate), Vitamins Niacin (B3), Pantothenic Acid (B5), B6, Riboflavin (B2), B12.

I learn't some new words just then!

LOL. Just after i posted that comment, I heard the phone go.

Dad picked it up and after a couple of minutes he walked into the room.

He just said that Frucor (The Manufactors of the V) rang up and said that I shouldn't have had received the Pocket Rocket and that I shouldn't drink it as im under 16! :(

I supose that goes to show that Frucor don't want the Ministry Of Health on their backs for trying to sell or even give away this product to people under 16.
I have to wait a month now to try it, or I might try and sell it off to someone over 16....

I just tried one of these on the way home and it tastes just too sweet and a little bit sickly. Also I have tried the red bull version of it as well and that has no real taste at all and not really worth it.

After I tried them I don't think I wouldn't have one again.. I rather have something which lasts longer than 10 seconds.

I have tried alot of energy drinks in the past (red bull, V, V black etc) and at the moment I am drinking V Black but would rather drink Jolt Cola if I could find some (V Black tastes a little bit similar to it)

As I drink alot of energy drinks (caffeinne) a single one doesn't give me a "hit" at all.

Following up on the phone call my dad received last night, we received this in the mail this morning, with the big red lettering of 'IMPORTANT' stamped across the envelope.

Frucor REALLY REALLY do not want me to drink this Pocket Rocket!

kingjj: It is ridiculous how drink companies can pack large quantities of caffeine into small shots of liquid and call it a "dietary supplement". Energy drinks have a caffeine limit per 100mls, dietary supplements currently have no limit on caffeine per millage. These products are not dietary supplements, they provide little benefit to the consumer other than the caffeine "buzz". They do however pose serious health risks to consumers, particularly youths who, while V's website claims are not the target audience, are the biggest consumers by far. Just look at the 15 year old girl up North a few weeks ago who collapsed after having a "dietary supplement" shot which contained 250mg's of caffeine in a 60ml shot from the dairy across the road from her School. The Ministry of Health has started investigating these products, hopefully they will place similar restrictions on them as normal energy drinks have. I;m with johnr, water for me thanks.

One of the things you're taught at uni is that if you can work around the legislation while remaining legal (it's all about interpretation & what you call your ingredients) then you can get the edge on the competition & lets face it, it's all about money.

I'v been talking to one of the guys who worked on designing this over the last couple of days, the reason they don't bother to spend the money putting in the flavour is because it is meant to be had as a shot rather than just drinking it slowly. There really isn't a chance to taste it anyway as when you knock it back you're holding your breath which stops your olfactory nerve from working (not literally disables it, just stops it being effective).

I realise that there is still some left over in your mouth afterwards but flavours are expensive!

I have to say though, if I was given the choice between the bullet and regular V, I would choose the bullet for the good of my teeth.

Nothing really, Just a fancy word the manufactures use to make the product sound like it has a beneficical use to you. Checky really.

Funny that, did law at Uni as well and learnt that. Was the reason (amoung others) that I hanged my degree, annoyed me too much, haha. Looked at the new Red Bull shot yesterday, only contains 80mg's of caffine, much more reasonable.

With the obnoxious laws about the limits of caffene in energy drinks, this was the only logical step.

I recall when redbull went from a recommended max of 5 cans to 2 - called them up to ask whats changed with the drink and they said nothing, just the laws on the labeling of the drink.

Used to have many more then the 5 recommendation per day. You become immune to the stuff after a while.
