Yeah I was just going to say that. The full details of that were in todays paper...

The guy took a taxi to bank #1, handed over note demanding money, got none, so got back in taxi and went to bank #2, handed over note and got a small amount of money, then went to police station and handed himself in.

But the most "exciting" thing to happen this year was probably an armed offender callout on Evan St (SH1), a large section of the main road was shut down, uniformed police everywhere with assault rifles diverting traffic around scene, the AOS guys in black with dogs. I was stranded at work for over an hour as even though I had finished, the roadblock was on either side of my house. No firefight eventuated though.
