With regards to the current topic, I guess the only solution is to vote with your feet.

I'm no expert, but if I understand you correctly, I don't think it would be covered.  Your contents covers the "contents" of your home, and I would expect the definition to be listed in the policy document.  I don't think a car would fall within that definition.  My policy specifically mentions that contents are not "a motor vehicle, caravan, trailer, aircraft, motorcycle, trail bike, mini bike, motorised go-cart and spare parts or accessories".

If you had car insurance, those accessories would be covered.
