Stuff's own advertising where they say there are consequences for not being the first to break a story is kind of indicative of the whole industry, where getting the facts right is a very distant second to being the first to publish "breaking" news.

But to proof read an article as small as that would only take 2min. I doubt anyone is going to notice if they are 2min late to break the news.

I also emailed them about it & did not receive a reply. However that was probably because I was taking the piss suggesting they were drinking at the game then coming back to write their article.

Exactly, that's my whole point! Standards and quality have given way to ratings and "breaking news". Sure, this wasn't a breaking news article, but they'd rather have it out there first and have people read about it there than go to another source and read it there. "Let's get it out there, we'll proof read it later".

Still, for a journalist to get 'cease' and 'seize' so wrong is a pretty rookie mistake.

use to read the online nz herald till stuff came along, Stuff is far better its not so cluttered as well, and i like the Stuffs game reviewer he at least knows about games.
