Yup. :)

lag
v. lagged, lag·ging, lags
v. intr.

1. To fail to keep up a pace; straggle.

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=lag

was gonna pull something from the wikipedia, but nothing really suitable for a brick vs a feather in a gravity race. :/

Good thing you didn't use wikipedia - the Chinese government has blocked it here.

They block high-profile sites that differ from their policies. Google cache seems to be blocked as well.
Proxies/SSH tunnels/VPN's are the only way to get around their restrictions.

I could write a bit more on it but its already going offtopic from the thread. Also I'm seriously considering living here on a permanent basis rather than New Zealand so I don't want to write anything that is publically accessible and indexed to bite me in the future.

Going back on topic... has anyone actually tried Phone racing?
Do the phones go in one direction or does the table need to be on a slight angle?
And does anyone have an idea on how many SMS it will take to finish the race (possible idea for a GZ lottery?)?

It would also be cheaper to just disable voicemail on the phones and just call them... that way you aren't flooding the networks either (though employees of the carriers probably get free service anyway).

tonyhughes: the old philips savvy vogue was the best for this - you didnt even have to txt it, you could change the settings, and when you 'previewed' the vibrate mode, it would vibrate continuosly.

I guess now i realise why they sold so many of these terrible phones :-P

I had no idea :-) I would have bought one a long time ago if I had known that!

My fone only vibrates for a couple of seconds and its all over! can you make it perform for longer is there a timer on them to change? I would expect that the flip phones would lag a bit or should I say straddle behind because they are carrying more on their back ( sort of piggy backing)............. but hey! Im up for anything! I will give it a go with a few of my friends and take down the results.
But if anyone can help with the vibration time, that would make it a longer race, lol ;-)

Well. The threads certainly do move up the rankings pretty quickly.
