Funny you talk about a drop off zone. They actually have one right in front of the school if you look on the map. I know theres parallel parks there as well, I have parked there before but it involves doing a u-turn and that street is packed after school so its simply not even worth it. I had the idea the other day, they could turn the far end of the school field into a car park just for students. Right now that end of the field is out of bounds for everyone because some students go there and light up in breaks and get wasted at end of term.

Unfortunately when the zone is a culdesac there's very little incentive to fix it, as anything that goes on only affects the school. Mountford park, perhaps, but not enough to warrant much effort. Bummer....

Nah its a Primera. My mates cars on there. The red March. This must have been during exams last year or something. Usually theres way more parked cars than that. Or early in the morning because of the cars in the drop off bay

D: Know its not right forum but anyone wanna help me get new glass's? Broke them tonight coz I dropped them on mates tiled floor and cracked the frames and chipped lenses. Sylvia Park on a Sunday. Parking nightmare fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff

If the school had a clue they would accept reality and make it easier - perhaps a big, 4-lane loop across the front of the school, like an airport drop-off / pick-up zone.

Are you suggesting that the school and council turn tardtasticx's favourite parking space into a pick up zone?

Might be easier if he backed into that park.....so he can just pull straight out. Personally, I'd just park further away. It only takes a couple of minutes at most to walk even 100 metres. Probably less time than it takes trying to get out of that part at the peak time.

I see this at supermarkets all the time. People will invest a lot of time to park close to the door, whereas if they just parked in the first easy spot and walked they'd actually get in the door faster.

I agree re the supermarket, but to be fair, if the park is vacant when you arrive you shouldn't be disinclined to take it due to the idiocy of others. So a fair effort at dealing to that is probably not unreasonable in this circumstance.

Backing into the park is the first and most obvious move. In fact where doable I recommend it across the board.

A car park near my work has notoriously narrow / poor turning spaces - watched a guy do a 7 or 9 point turn to back out of a particularly narrow jam. I backed into the spot first time around, and subsequently had no issues getting out forwards. Helped that the cars 'pivot' was somewhere useful, not trapped in a narrow space, and I could much better see what I was doing.

Well I did reverse into the car park this morning. Alarm glitched out and left my park lights on, done it before and flattend the battery but mates saw it as it was facing road :D. There were less parents there yesterday and I assume today as well because the school almost feels empty. Not sure why. So unless the other parents saw me go confront that lady got scared, or some people got a nasty fine. See if this continues on Thursday as teachers are going on strike and I plan to go into town and do it also with a "vote for Pedro" picket sign. Anyone plan to join? We can try find parks on queen street! woo

Theres a few parallel parks which are 1 hour I think. But theres some up by the big cinema what ever its called, the one with the rocket lift. xD.
