iTunes for me. Works well enough. I have an iPhone and my wife has an iPod, so its necessary, really.

Does the job more than adequately for my purposes.

foobar2000. Far more enjoyable to use then iTunes, and syncs with my iPod fine with the right plugin.

Are there any free programs which have a decent graphic equalizer/spectrum analyzer, and all I require is to play MP3 format only?

Sorry, I might add I'd like one with the frequencies listed on the x axis, and also to get one with logarithmic axis as this guy says...

"SIGH... - Why do ALL winamp spectrum analyzars have a **linear** freqency axis?Real audio spectrum analyzers always have a **logarithmic** frequency axis: the (horizontal) space from 25Hz to 50Hz equals the space from 50Hz to 100Hz equals the space from 1kHz to 2kHz and so forth.Such a display provides a much more meaningful view of the spectral makeup of an audio signal.The linear frequency axis makes for a pretty picture, but does not give any meaningful information."

For music: iTunes on mac osx to sync the iPhone and mediamonkey on windows

For video: vlc on both

VLC and KMPlayer

I like KMPlayer the best for example if i am watching youtube flicks that are in parts, I'll download all parts to desktop then KMPlayer will play each one in order, no need to click on each part to play. I mean whippy do it only takes a second to click on the next one! Yeah but its excellent like I watched the walk-through for Aliens v predators game (for each race) and it was like watching a full movie.

And now i wait for someone to mention yea but most players can do that anyway. lol

Definately used to be winamp for me before I got an ipod, so itunes will have to do. It's not bad though once you set it up to how you like it.
