Wonder why sony get away with selling the PS2/3 without being multizone to be honest.


Because they're Sony and Sony makes the rulz.

Because they're Sony and Sony makes the rulz.


Their DVD players are all sold multi-zone in retail stores. They are not permitted to import multi-zoned players but once in the country there are no laws prohibiting a player to be unlocked so they unlock them all before sale.

I'd imagine PS2/PS3 units are a little more difficult to multi-zone hence the fact that they aren't.
