bazzer: Wow. Just had a look. The 32GB is under $300 shipped! But how does the Zune compare to the new iPod touch? 32GB is $500, but you get Facetime, retina display...

Depends on what operating system you're going to use it with; if I was using Windows I'd go for Zune but if you're with a Mac you're better off with an iPod.

The Zune software itself is second to none - easy to use, well designed etc. The exact opposite of what iTunes/QuickTime is like on Windows :D

I'm not really too bothered about the software, once the data is on there what's the usability difference like.  I suppose I'll have to try both to find out...

paulspain: If someone was interested in my old 32gb Zune HD I'd probably sell it for a hot a price :)

A price like...?  PM me if you want.

tardtasticx: ... whenever I open the auctions it says hes won, the top of the page says it was sold to another member, but he still has feedback from them?

Because that message is saying the item was not sold TO YOU, but to someone else.

The software is still important because iTunes has a horrible reputation for crashing and BSOD'ing Windows because of the crappy driver that it includes. If it were as simple as 'running an application' and 'all are the same' then it wouldn't matter but the reality is that iTunes is horrific on Windows - I wouldn't want to impose it even on my worst enemy.

Just for informational purposes - it is possible to order anything you like from Amazon with services like shipito (if you search the forums you'll see all the info on it).

Thats a sharp price on the Zune, if I needed a media player other than my phone I'd probably get on that.

Theres only a $50NZ difference between the 16 and 32Gb model so I might upgrade to the 32. Still amazingly cheap

I'm under 18 and theres a whole lot worse on the internet I could be looking at. I think Trademe should be the bottom of your list, dont you?

It was a light hearted comment but, since you asked, I'd say attempting to enter into binding contracts when you are a minor is higher up on my list than whatever sites you were implying.

Trade Me has an age restriction for a reason.

So your saying pretty much you have never sold something second hand to someone when you were under 18?

Probably not.  And certainly not via a website whose terms and conditions I broke by registering in the first place.  If you want to sell something on Trade Me, get your Mum or Dad to do it for you, eh?

Anyway, probably we've gone OT enough for now.  Sorry, mods.  I'd be interested in taking this discussion to a separate thread if you're keen.

Yes I do have my parents with me when doing trades, its usually through the post though and everyone in the house uses that account so they know what I'm buying/selling etc... Thanks for showing concern, i prob shouldnt have shot you down like that. So back OT, I'm ordering the 32GB instead. Saves me wishing I had later on.

paulspain: I have a 32gb Zune HD and have been very happy with it. Though it gets very little use now I have Windows Phone 7. As far as buying from Amazon - I don't recall having had any issues. In fact I think my Zune HD came from Amazon and was shipped to a U.S. address. Nice to know that will ship some electronics to NZ now.

If someone was interested in my old 32gb Zune HD I'd probably sell it for a hot a price :)

How does the Win Phone 7 go as a media player vs a zune.  I have been looking at a Zune for quite some time but am holding off for a few more Win7 phones to come out.  Woudl rather have an all in one device so if the phone does as good a job then I am all for that.  My Current Sony Ericsson W995a is a fantastic phone/camera and MP3 player but I just feel like I need something else.
