How about trying a bit of Araldite on an inconspicuous part of the case and see if it truly adheres or just forms an apparent bond which can be lifted off with little effort?

If you want glue suitable for ABS ask a shop which has components for plastic aircraft models. Maybe something like "Plastruct Plastic Weld" which claims to be a general purpose plastic solvent cement for bonding Plastruct ABS etc.

I actually found some Plastic glue in the garage that I will try, but I also picked up some of the Super Strength Araldite to give it a whirl as well. Hopefully I can find something that works.

It's unlikely to bond plastic to metal though, is it?

Shoe Goo is also a really good adhesive especially where you require the joint have some flexibility. Get it from #1 shoe warehouse (or other shoe shops).

I used it to attach a square meter or so of vinyl on my old MX5's roof as a repair, lets say that it held down against Mr Bernoulli at significant speeds.

Edit to add: if the Epoxy doesn't bond well for you, I definitely suggest Shoe Goo, it is strongly adhesive to just about anything.

The main parts I want to bond are plastic, it's just that if it bonds to nearby metal as well it would make it even stronger. :)

It's way too cold in the garage at the moment, so I think I might have to carefully have a go at gluing it inside in the kitchen table.
