Lack of objectivity, and name calling/insults/biased assumptions is my pet peeve. Precludes an active, informative discussion.

True actually, nothing wrong with recommending, it's the "why" you recommended.

I think it's less "why" more "how"...

I see what you mean, I meant "why"  if being biased or making rash assumptions, in order to downgrade the other product, that can also be a how, too I guess.

I don't see you as a fanboy. I've seen your posts, you like WP7 you tell others why they are good, to me thats a good post. If such posts were the norm that would be good.

Anyone that owns a Android Product. Then proceeds to tell others that it's the BEST

On that point, Michael wrote a brief blog post on the different types of fanboys....

I think part of being a Fanboy is related to pre-ordering (and recommending) products they have never seen, used or even read an independent review.

* Sounds interesting, I'll wait until it arrives and take a look = normal behaviour
* I've seen one favourable review and I'm going to pre-order = possible Fanboy
* I've seen one marketing video and I'm going to pre-order = likely Fanboy
* I'm posting from the queue outside the shop at midnight waiting for the official release at 10am = Fanboy

In my humble opinion part of being a fanboy is not having what it takes to 'go pro' or even try go pro.

If you work at in the industry you love, you may have all the latest toys, love your job and worship Steve but you are not a fanboy, you are an engineer or a coder or an IT marketer or a designer. You are, in short, a Pro and should be respected as such.

But if you work in a job you hate because it is not related to your passion and never will be. If you save all your money so you can buy the latest T-shirt to wear as you line up outside the store to buy your toy. If you cut out the photo of you in the paper triumphantly holding aloft the product they sold you for your own hard earned. If this was the best moment of your life.

Then you, good sir, are a fanboy, and should be given the respect you have earned.

I see a few posts referring to Steve. There are Apple fanboys and Android fanboys. Quite different breeds though.

Different species, same genus.
