at least we are not charged to get to the fans' zones. at some parts of the world they would make revenue out of it... just imaging, even a $5 at door to be on queens wharf. easy $50k a night for council/government.

I just hate that most of bars put $1-2 extra for the pint around the Auckland :( and I love Irish pubs around AKL central that they even lowed their prices for jugs :D got on them.

meh, nobody is being forced to buy this guy's coffee or use his restaurant. As far as I am concerned, he can charge what he likes as long as the pricing is clear before you order. It's not like he has a monopoly on coffee in kingsland.

$9 for fish and chips, thats crazy expensive that's if you are talking about a single serve. The tomato and tartare isn't free it's built in to the $9 :)

Yes, it's expensive but I disagree that, given the context, it is crazy expensive. It was a couple of bits of fish and some chips. I'm a bit cheap, but I didn't feel "ripped off".

You don't expect food at these things to cost the same as your local. Mind you, $5 I think for a hot dog (sausage on a stick variety) isn't great value! Anyway, I didn't think the pricing was exploitative.

Its not that bad, most F&C shops would charge $3 for a piece of fish, plus $3 for a scoop of chips and then 50c for the sauce. So really not that bad.

I was a bit pissed off when my 7 year old son bought a pie at one of the pool games at Wellington Stadium for $6 or $7 (cant remember) only for it to be a Steak & Veg pie - like WTF? Who gives a kid a Steak and Veg pie? He took one bite and refused to eat it (we didnt realise until he had opened it). And that was the most expensive pie ever...

I'll have to tell my local chippy shop to charge more ;-) $5 for a hotdog is a bit much, let alone $6-$7 for a pie.

Hoping the hotdog is atleast dipped in tomatoe sauce?

If they drop the price they would sell more and make more money, or did I miss something in economics?

:-)

Then again even going to something like the Easter show the vendors tend to exploit the captive audience. (let alone the overpriced ticket to get in).
