networkn: Yah I have had a couple where the middle wasn't runny, perhaps they boiled the egg too long.

mrdrifter: We gave up even buying Creme eggs following the change, they just aren't the same any more.

Same here. The "yolk" became a sugary lump and a subtle difference in the flavour of the chocolate.

There is another skywalker, in that there are British ones (http://www.cremeegg.co.uk/) and they even do creme egg bars, which in Palmerston North the Pioneer New World was selling as they do lots of boutique imported stuff....

But yeah, I got well psd off with Cadbury trying to screw people.  They changed 3 things on their chocolate bars all at once, the recipe, where it was manufactured, the packaging and the lighter weight bar size.  Ok, so that's 4 things, but after complaints they changed only a few back and kept the same price!  Whitakers gets my vote now, we simply never buy Cadbury chocolate any more and I've grown to prefer the Whitakers chocolate taste more now anyway.

I used to have access to the Cadbury staff shop. At one point you could buy 50 eggs for $5. The flat of four of us got through 100 in 3 weeks....

I have to ask, please don't take offence, but did you gain much weight eating that many?

Not that I noticed but I doubt it was doing any of us any favors.

As well as the Creme Eggs the Moro Bars are not a patch on what they used to be.

I too would love to see the sales figures for Cadburys.

I'm a confirmed Whittakers addict. I'm sure they could make something like Creme Eggs without creating a problem, however they may wish to stick to their "knitting".

That's only on average 1ish per day each. Why would you expect to gain much weight eating a single 40g egg a day? Or was that 100 each?!

P.S. If I could get creme eggs  for 10c I would probably eat at least that many! :)

Does Whittakers make easter eggs in general? I have been the same about supporting them, but didn't think they did the easter thing.

Noted the xkcd comic last night loled.

I was just at a New World in Christchurch and they have a French brand similar to Creme Eggs. Different flavours too.

Seemed to be making a big deal about it on the display stand, particularly the gooey centre.
