Behodar:

What is the name of a vertical rod in the back of this type of chair?

The one on the far left is Bill, then Adam, then Sally...

Actually, it's called a spindle.

Anyone know what kind of service time you can expect with a St John alarm button? Someone I know who uses it has had pretty lacklustre service from them. Eg how long should an incontinent elderly person lay stuck on the floor for?

You're not on Atlantis anymore, Duncan Idaho.

@MadEngineer, it probably depends where they live but essentially they're in the queue to get an ambulance and will be prioritised against other patients. Had a relative with one, and St John would contact family as well whenever the alarm was activated.

Couple of months ago but they seem to be short staffed https://www.1news.co.nz/2024/05/28/st-john-service-at-breaking-point-say-paramedics/

MadEngineer: Anyone know what kind of service time you can expect with a St John alarm button?

It is my impression the call centre responding to the button press is not the same call centre as the st john ambulance, and that the call centre people responding to the button press are not medically trained. The main function of the that button call centre seems to be calling the button presser and if they can't get an answer then co-ordinate calling friends and family and finding someone to investigate. Perhaps the paramedic service is the last option if the call centre cannot contact a friend, relative or neighbour to respond?

Those are my impressions gained secondhand from someone with a button who pressed it on a couple of different occassions. I could be wrong about any aspect of that.

I am in need fairly urgently of decent comfortable mens dress shoes for work. Where is the biggest collection of mens shoes for sale in a single area in Auckland?

Probably either the PwC Tower or Vero Centre.

You're welcome.

How can a sportsperson be labelled the Greatest Of All Time when all time hasn't passed yet?

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

Well, you can only go off what you have, so if you are the greatest to this point, then you are greatest of all (the time that has passed) time.

My bugbear is when people are claiming people are the GOAT before they are finished their career.

Who would have thunk an entirely undefined and subjective title would have vague and inconsistent definitions and criteria?

I am going to start Star wars with my kids this weekend. What order should I watch it with them?  (does it differ depending on Adult or Kid)?

IMO watch 4-6 first as then you get the reveal at the end of the Empire strikes back. After that who cares? The other 6 are pretty crap anyway.

How old are they and what gender?  The original few, which are essentially boys running around having adventures, may not resonate well with people who don't fit that demographic.

(This is from talking to someone who was too young to see the originals and, when she did get to see them, found nothing in there for her).

My girls liked them so YMMV.
