Well they said they would drop 1K, I told them we were miles apart and left, they haven't been in touch since, neither have we. Haven't gone any further as the trade we were doing with the wife's brother isn't going to work out so we might wait 6 months.

mattwnz: When I purchased a new toyota a number of years ago, I got about 20% off, due to field day specials, which was a better price than the same model that was a year old and had 40k on the clock. But I don't think the specials are as good as they used to be.


You can still get some pretty good fielddays deals.  We just bought a new ute and got about 22% of the RRP with 3ys/50K free servicing and a good price on the canopy and towbar.  It did help being able to play 2 Auckland based dealerships off against each other on things like the tradein value and the deal on the canopy and towbar
