riahon: If I was dotcom I would get my money back, buy Tui - shut it down. Rebrand the company, re-employ all staff except CEO and marketing team, and call it something like - Magpie (I take shiny things I don't need)

And puhleeeaaase make a decent beer in the process. Wink

You could probably stop there, Tui is a rubbish beer.

I didn't. But will ask everyone registered for a copy of their birth certificate from now on.

I don't have the long form birth certificate handy, but I'm pretty sure my mum was there when it happened. She'll vouch for me.

Didnt we loose that in the skynet law?

I chuckled when I first saw this.

Is just a joke. And a joke is not a joke it seems if it doesn't offend somebody somewhere!

It's not a joke, it's a personal attack against a specific woman who has ended up having a small amount of media attention due to someone elses actions. Not entirely dissimilar to the Rock's billboards which were a direct attack on a certain other radio personality which were quickly vandalised\censored and then removed.

A number of the Tui billboards are in a similar vein however, usually less direct though. They seem to have lost the originality of some of the earlier boards, the usual one on the Hutt motorway hasn't had anything genuinely original\amusing for a couple of years now. (I don't count references that only followers of NRL understand).

Interestingly when I first saw this sign go up, my thoughts went to, he must be just as awesome in real life as he seems in the media. Different perspective, but can understand the other viewpoint and yeah, not nice.

Not so, I struggle to remember what she personally looks like or have a clue what her name is! Because the joke still works no matter who married him. It really isn't about her, but about him.

I pay very little attention to these ads. My first thought on seeing it was she married him for other qualities.

A second look and it is clear it is designed to personally insult both people.

This kind of humor is not very nice. Would you like your partner and personal characteristics insulted at the same time by someone you don't even know? for the purpose of selling beer?
