Would be quite awesome if it did turn out to be a new volcanic event. Would be fortunate for the Northshore residents if it did turn up out at sea rather than in their backyards. Think of the tourist attraction: Come see the new volcano! Fortunately for Auckland any new volcanic activity should be scenic rather than catastrophic.

I was sitting in the movies with my kids (who incidentally didn't feel a thing).

Was quite unnerving to be ina theatre with tilt-slab walls in an earthqueake.

It felt like a good shove on the end of the row of seats, that kept going for a few seconds. Definite side-to-side "sliding" feeling - much like the earthquake/volcano simulator at the Auckland Museum.

Haven't felt one like that since I lived in Welly as a child.

Was in Brookby at the time and didn't feel a thing. Wife was in Papakura and said glasses/windows rattled.

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

Keep calm, and carry on posting.
