k1wi: I found it amusing that the people on Stuff started drawing correlations between the whales stranding on Farewell spit to the earthquakes. I mean don't get me wrong, I'm all for keeping an open mind on things, but still.

Then the number who declared that the eagle has landed...

I wonder if there will be an OSH enquiry over the eagle falling down...Potentially it could have been very dangerous.

Most likely, when I first heard it I thought that it would be the last time they hang things within the terminal.

KiwiNZ: I think the Manawatu Gorge will be a spooky place to drive through over the next few weeks, after shocks could well bring down some quite large rock falls.

The sooner they actually build rock roofs like they do in the European Alps, the safer users will be.

I had often thought of that, but a family member who is a Civil Engineer tells me that the cost would be huge.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

They did a similar thing in Cape Town South Africa and it was highly effective.

lol those pictures all look photoshopd, like those old crazy Golf green calendars they used to produce...

The gorge is a laugh with regards the amount of money they keep flooding into that place. Time to upgrade the over routes instead me thinks.

and Marton, lol there too ;-)

I use to drive that road every day .....
Not at all Photoshopped. But it sure does look it.

They use that road in Cape Town in a number of motorcar advertisements.

They're supposed to be spending $4.5 million on the Saddle Road soon. No, it's not a lot really.

Nope. But not that it would make a difference.
