i do this out of habbit, too easy for me to confuse one number with another.

With phone numbers it can depend on the number how to pronounce. The one rule for me is 02x first.... Not, for example zero, two double one xxx xxx....

A bit off topic but we used get people stating their address and leaving off the flat number all the time...

Zero for sure. Normally written with a vertical line through to differentiate from the letter O (same with Z to avoid confusion with 2)

I always try to be clear. I think it comes from things like rock climbing where you always tell your climbing partner "take in" instead of "take in the slack" in case "slack" is the only word they hear - meaning they would do the opposite of what you were needing...! Clarity is a good goal.

I also get quite maddened when people say things like "A for apple, B for big" etc instead of "Alpha, Bravo" etc.

Interestingly, the Royal Navy actually used Apples in their phonetic alphabet during WWI!

My partner's number is annoying. I always have trouble conveying it to people so they get it first time, so some help with this would be rad.

His number is 021 102 1xxx

I'm a fan of 3-3-4 but for his number my brain wants to go '0211 021 xxx'. But this confuses the living daylights out of whomever is taking it down.
