If ever there was an overpaid job, it isn't being a CEO it's being a sportsman.

I am not aware of a Kiwi Sports Person being paid that kind of money in our sporting history, not even for one week.

It's a comment on sports people as a breed not specifically their nationality.

Plenty of European footballers earn that kind of money, for example - or racing drivers in F1 etc.

To be fair to racing drivers, at least they risk death which makes it vaguely exciting.

Excellent point, but I can't help thinking of this thing:

I want to say 'Only in Russia', but I suspect there will bigger, badder, more ridiculous ~~drones~~qudcopters in southern states of North America.

I knew it was filmed in the USA — the McDonalds drive through with an armoured car was a dead giveaway — but didn't know the quad copter was a fake. So the bullet strikes are all done with SFX? I imagine the self destruct bit in the car at the end of the video is also faked. The camera was on a tripod, so the quad copter flies out of the car before it is detonated, and that footage is deleted.

The Keith Ratliff murder was also news to me.

Physically I don't believe it would be possible to fire a gun with that big of a recoil and ever aim properly or with accuracy. Also dummies do not explode into fire, they explode into dust and chunks, no fire :)

They have lots of amateur videos from smartphones, security videos, etc. They have the original car plates and can find it was stolen or belonged to someone and trace that. They can use fingerprints in the cars. They get all this, plus a face identification routine and find the culprits. It's called investigative work.

If they had previous surveillance in place then it obviously failed to prevent the attack.

So in this context of new laws your argument is invalid. They are using what they already have.

It also reminds us how difficult a single rotor (not counting the tail rotor) helicopter is to fly and keep stable compared to today's quad-copters.

With all due respect its really time to wake up and realise just how dangerous the world and that new procedures are need to help protect the populous.
