Presso: Why would you muck around with something so iconic , Have not tried it yet myself but seems there are a few peeved off people and not really a good PR result for Nestle

Err is this why it tastes rank? A lack of vanilla. And nzers are generally magnesium deficient because of a national soil deficiency. Umm this seems like someone brainless has made some decisions.

The funny thing is a new packet got opened tonight here and everybody is complaining. And now I read the article ... it explains it all!

Ibell's three year old was tube fed for two years.

No one can comment on what to feed someone until they have had a tube fed child.

Having been through the nightmare of tube feeding a child for a year I would know.

I have a 12 yr old who is allergic to more foods than not. She has been tube feed most of her life.
We've learned to tolerate the ignoramuses out there on account that they are too uneducated to know any better

I'll be honest and say that Milo simply does not do anything for me. It tastes of almost nothing - certainly not chocolate - and I think I would need half a tin per glass to make it taste of much.

We once had guests turn up in our B&B with a child of about that age and ask "where is the nearest McDonalds so we can get him some dinner?"

They were a bit put out to discover it was an 80km round trip to the nearest one....

Does anyone remember "Coca Cola II" AKA "New Coke" - a notorious marketing fiasco for Coca Cola in 1992?

I hope that "Milo II" dies an equally rapid death.

I predict people will keep buying it out of habit, and eventually forget there was a problem. Ever tried to mix cocoa powder and sugar and make your own chocolate drink? Not as tasty as you might think unless you chuck in some kahlua.

I used to eat milo out of the packet with a spoon when I was a kid.

I used to eat milo out of the packet with a spoon when I was a kid.

Not sure if you can get it here (never looked tbh!) but when I was at boarding school we had a school tradition which was Cadbury drinking chocolate mixed with cold milk. Drank it every day of term for 5 years and never touched it since! I recall the method well though - 4 teaspoons of chocolate powder plus a little milk, mix to a creamy paste and then slowly add more milk until the cup is full.

I tried some today, and it actually isn't bad. I would go as far as to say I prefer it. Not sure though about the use of palm oil in it.

eXDee: Just looked at the facebook page. If there's one thing NZ'ers seem to be good at, its starting a movement to change back/bring back/alter a foodstuff.
I expect this will be covered on seven sharp, known for its high quality programming and coverage of important issues like this.

Great to see NZers getting up in arms at the important things again.

Is New Zealand being used for testing purposes (again)?
