Surprised it's not a second out on FM from whatever true source of time you're using.

I've worked in radio and in-studio we usually monitor in "Program" mode.

"FM Receive" mode is no good because the 1-sec delay caused by whatever we're sending to go "studio > audio processing > transmitter link encoding & transmission > more processing (in regional markets in particular) > FM transmission" completely throws the brain.

I'm glad that's sorted.  I hate listening to old news.

Don't worry, it'll all be over in just a second.

login: I'm definitely not streaming - I'm receiving live National Radio in Wellington on an FM receiver on 101.3 MHz. The 1 second variation in the time signal was only apparent to me after midday on 1st July. Up until then both were in sync exactly. The 1 second variation has been there ever since (12 days now). The GPS time on my Smart phone and atomic watch both agree. National Radio is one second behind both of them.

I heard the time signals at midday on the day in question and there were definitely seven blips rather than the usual six.  I counted.

That's amazing!  I missed them, didn't know about it then.  It's an opportunity that might only arise a few times in one's entire lifetime.  I may have missed out.   8-(

I can just picture telling the grandchildren:

"Back when I was a young man, I tuned in for the last leap second, two thousand and fifteen it was, July the 1st, I remember it like it was yesterday.  On the National Radio programme on the wireless, they played seven beeps instead of the usual six! Oh it was so exciting"

and they are just still playing with their iHolograms and didn't hear a word
