JimmyH:
freitasm: A fine that not one of those people can pay, so they don't feel bad at all. Fine then $500 and see things change.

And if they don't pay then they can be rewarded with a nice relaxing week-long holiday staying at Her Majesty's Bed and Breakfast.

I also get the point about police time. However, if they have time to pot people for inadvertently and perfectly safely drifting up to 55 km/h in a 50 zone on a holiday weekend, then surely they have time to pot people causing a public nuisance, playing a hazardous game of russian roulette in the traffic at intersections, potentially damaging property, and (in come cases) coming close to essentially demanding money with menaces.

I accept it's not exactly up there with the Crippen murder on the crime scale, but it's not nothing either. And I feel sorry for the driver who will eventually be put through the wringer for running one of these clowns down, as they dart in and out of the traffic stream at light changes.

Not sure about Police time. They seem perfectly happy to act as a taxi service for drunks to judge from police 10-7 etc - and I certainly think those drunks ought to receive a bill to reimburse the taxpayer for the police time their stupidity wasted.

If anyone EVER squirted anything on my car...
They'd be held until police could pry me off them.

I don't even allow rain on my windscreen without permission.

Geektastic: They are a reason we should be allowed to carry and use tasers.

I was surprised to hear that you are not allowed to.

Also on an unrelated note, is it true you are not allowed to text while waiting at the traffic intersection?

In my opinion, these window washer guys are effectively beggars.

That effectively use stand over tactics. You are trapped in a metal box and they have just sprayed salt filled dishwashing liquid on your car.

Remember that under-sill flame thrower thing designed for stopping carjackings in South Africa? (even they banned that one, unfortunately)

My mother's friend's daughter was murdered in a Saffer carjacking. I am sure she feels that banning things like that was the best way forward though!

My personal favourite is the one that electrocutes car thieves in the original Robocop movie.

Me, I always thought it was ok given that you were stopped at a intersection and waiting.

Nope.

Heavily frowned upon...especially by those waiting behind you when you don't immediately respond to the traffic lights...

robjg63: If idiots did not give them money they would vanish.
There are many idiots around.

Pretty much this.

It's like when people feed seagulls bread. It only attracts more.

I hate window washers, it's dangerous (they could easily be hit by a car), and they do a crap job.
