nzkiwiman: Don't want to spoil anything, but that was a sad ending.
I can't wait to see the next episode

- I assumed he no longer had his sonic glasses, but he then used them at the end. Why did he never scan the monster to try to figure out what it was and defeat it?
- A substance 400 times harder than diamond and 25 feet thick - I don't care how many billions of times you punch it, you ain't getting through.
- What was the "Bird" reference for? I might need to rewatch.

Sonic X is basically a plot device, a get out of jail free card for the writers. You don't use your GOOJFC if you don't need to.

A bird pecking, peck, peck, peck until eventually it gets somewhere. Tenacity. It's his message to his next self.
PS: I'm not familiar with the story, but google tells me the quote comes from "The Shepherd Boy" (Brothers Grimm) " [...] how many seconds of time are there in eternity [...] the Diamond Mountain, which is two miles and a half high, two miles and a half wide, and two miles and a half in depth; every hundred years a little bird comes and sharpens its beak on it, and when the whole mountain is worn away by this, then the first second of eternity will be over[...]"
