I don't know how folks stay there. My nerves would be shot to hell and back and I live in Wellington. They must have nerves of steel in the mainland.

Nah - whisky works for me.  Well it was a nice day and a bit early for that, but SWMBO and I did have neighbours over for a G&T and BBQ a bit later on. 

 

TBH I thought the media reaction to the quake on Sunday was overkill.  Unfortunately they had some spectacular photos/footage of dust from the cliffs at Scarborough with which to hype it up into something it wasn't.

 

I don't think the media beat-up would have been good for people with nervous dispositions. People deal with it in different ways - obviously I've become a bit of an EQ geek over the past 5 years, others don't want to know.
