Using two Cambium E400 APs. Great 5GHz AC coverage in a concrete wall apartment. No single AP I have tried was able to provide 5 GHz coverage to the entire apartment. The 2.4GHz band has more than 15 networks showing at my location in the Auckland CBD. It is consequently unable to provide the reliability I seek for 8-10 connected Wi-fi devices on the network.

I know it is overkill for a home network doing a bit of Netflix and Lightbox streaming but it sure works well.

A vodafone (Huawei ) adsl router :(
6 laptops, 6 phones, 1 desktop, 1 PS4, 2 printers, 2 bluray players. (Just what every home has... actually it may be 7 laptops )

Just using a standard Fritzbox 7490. All in all about 27 devices.

Mikrotik RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN (currently retired until fibre is installed)

FritzBox 7490 (2deg VDSL)

Linksys WRT1900AC running DD-WRT

All runs Home network.

- 4 Phones
- 4+ PCs/Macs
- Guests on dedicated WiFi
- IoT devices (ESP8266es) on dedicated Wifi (no internet access)
- Server with RAID5 array in basement feeds out all storage needs via Gbit Ethernet.
- AIS antenna serves Wellington shipping data to vesseltracker.com
- RaspberryPi runs IoT (MQTT+NodeRed)

Just note guys - this is a full router with an ATA, it is not strictly just an AP.

ASUS RT-N56U, 18 clients - 9 wired and 9wireless. Coverage is ok but needs a restart every week or so to keep the wireless speeds working fast enough.

1 x Vodafone Huawei HG659 connected to VDSL in Bridge mode (Wifi off)

1 x Linksys WRT1200AC running LEDE (DD trunk r469 - release is a couple of months old but stable). Handles the PPPoE connection and acts as residential gateway, wifi ap + guest wifi, firewall, openvpn server, etc...

1 x Fritzbox 7390 (Wifi off - acting as a glorified SIP client for 2talk + DECT base station)

1 x Linksys WRT54G running DD-WRT (acting as WDS client bridge for old LG Smart TV, connected to it by ethernet)

1 x Apple TV 2nd Gen

1 x HP Printer

1 x iMac

1 x MacBook Pro

3 x iPhone

2 x iPad

Occasionally 2 x work laptops (Dell Win 7 + HP Win 10)

Just moved to 2Degrees so on the FritzBox 7490 which has made a difference in the house. Still have some devices on 2.4GHz but this kit is about central to the main house

WiFi: 2 x iPads, 1 x Samsung Tab, 3 x laptops, 4 x Phones, 2 x Amazon Fire TV Stick, 1 x Xbox360

Wired: A PC, Amazon Fire TV, Freeview+ STB, Panasonic Blu-Ray, Samsung TV and Synology NAS

Cabling is a bit messy but "I'll get around to tidying it" :)

Only problem is the garage / bedrooms that could do with better WiFi - thinking of running CAT6 and setting up an AP. Was going to use the old VF router but it's rubbish, so this would be very handy indeed.

Procrastination eventually pays off.

Fritzbox 7490, 6 laptops, 5 phones, 1 wireless printer, and 1 media pc. Reception dies at the back of the house and in the backyard.

Am planning a structured cabling solution and the wireless AP would be a perfect compliment.

I've got a NETGEAR WNDR3800 hiding behind the TV/HTPC cabinet along with cable modem, VOIP ATA and a tangled nest of wires. Have about 6 devices running on WIFI aswell as all the wired ports fully plugged up. Just use it to connect all my household collection of networkable gadgets to access my Vodafone cable connection.

Looks quite pretty all lit up!
