A friend used to work with a guy called Gaylord Bellend.  As made up as that sounds, it was his real name.

Related - at my first job they decided on global email address standard of surnamefirstinitial, so a John Smith would be smithj@company.com. As my department was originally an Irish company, we had many Irish names, for example a Maeve Gaynor. There was also a Karen Hon in the Kualua Lumpur office.

I remember a customer named Graeme Stringer who used to fill out forms as G Stringer

I remember seeing this on the chase, such and unfortunate name.

A guy who used to work with my father had the surname Pullar (pronounced Puller).

Can anyone guess what his parents called him ...

A long time ago, in the UK, Mr and Mrs Sizer named their son Richard.

As an adult, he insisted in being called Dick.

He eventually became a big cheese t the British Computer Society.

This led to a wonderful photo caption in the BCS's weekly newspaper:

"The British Computer Society's Dick Sizer."

Google it if you do not believe.

Coil:

On the topic of names however, Hauraki are having a competition to name their boat and I had a few ideas.

Master Baiter, Reel Nauti, Reel Wet, Nice Aft, Ship-Faced, Big Deck, Pooner Schooner.

Ship-Faced gets my vote!

rugrat: Meet someone who's last name was Christmas.
At least he wasn't a Priest, but I was wondering what his wife's first name was though

Probably not worth remembering her name, she would only come once a year.....

There was a kid at my school who's name was spelt "Boo Hoo" but pronounced "Poo Hole". We also had another kid who's name was Mungo. Not sure what happened to either of them.

Back in the day, US model and actress, Farrah Fawcett, married actor Lee Majors. She took on the name Farrah Fawcett-Majors.

Imagine if she had married NZ's famous double Victoria Cross winning WWII soldier, Charles Upham.
