Felt a slight sway in Dunedin (8th floor of a building)
Pretty much everyone I know looked at each other, gave it the "ooh, did you feel that", shrugged their shoulders and carried on with the daily graft.
Not the snowflakes in parliament though, they decided they'd better pack up and stop 'work' for the day.
Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

They actually stopped so they can focus with Civil Defense issues in light of the quake

Fair enough.................but you're spoiling my story
Although other than a couple of specific ministers maybe, why would MPs needs to get themselves directly involved in CD response matters?

Watching all the Defence Force folks come out of their building by the Hokowhitu lagoon was....impressive hahaha.
Ah well, @maoriboy, if you were in that building you'd have wanted to get out too! Awanui (the main Defence building on the Hokowhitu campus) does a great job of amplifying quakes - my wife at home in a 1920s wooden house often doesn't even feel the quakes that we really feel in Awanui. And yesterday's we really did feel...
Are the rest of the buildings on the wider campus not as bad in a quake? They're all brutalist monstrosities of a similar era.

:-)
I'm unsure if the session required a quorum, I got the impression that if some need to see Civil Defence it was a problem for the session. But unsure. They didnt seem in a rush to down tools and get under a desk.
@jonathan18 my work was located in the Te Ara building until just recently and are now temporarily located in the old cafe until our new offices in town are ready. The glass certainly rattled a lot in here hahaha
Is there an excess for claims through EQC? I've had a quick dig around their website and couldn't find mention of this.
We've got some cracking on the lounge ceiling that appears to have been caused by yesterday's quake.
