Cats have no need to do that - they already have us exactly where they want us. And they are media stars to boot.

The "star of Mar-a-lago" will herald the beginning of the age of the god-emperor, according to some.

OH NO - Trump as a God-Emperor.

Here is a great article: American Democracy Is Dying

"One must conclude that the impeachment mechanism basically does not work. We are right now living James Madison's worst nightmare — a nakedly corrupt demagogue who is plainly incapable of discharging the duties of the presidency is sitting in the White House, and when the constitutional method of removing him was tried, it could not get even a majority in the Senate, let alone the two-thirds supermajority necessary."

"A nakedly corrupt president who blatantly tried to rig the 2020 election now has full license to try the same trick again, and the Democratic Party has proved itself incapable of carrying out elementary electoral procedures every democratic nation mastered decades (if not centuries) ago. And now a case of behind-the-scenes oligarchic corruption has metastasized into full-blown democracy for sale.

American democracy is cracking up."

".......given the cancerous infestation of corruption and screeching propaganda that infests the Republican Party."

AND another article: Trump impeachment trial: Is US politics beyond the point of repair?

"The partisan vitriol. The degradation of debate. The use of what were previously rarely used weapons - in this instance impeachment - to escalate America's ceaseless political war.

Constantly it is remarked upon how Trump has departed from the norms of presidential behaviour, but one of the main effects of these past three years has been to destroy the shared sense of what those norms should be. As the impeachment trial underscored, Washington cannot even agree on what constitutes right and wrong.

Faced with a demographic death spiral in recent decades, the Republican Party has been masterful at accruing power when the ethnic make-up of America increasingly favours the Democrats.

......minority party that has lost the popular vote in six out of the last seven presidential elections remain in the majority. In the impeachment trial, the 48 Senators who voted to convict represent 18 million more people than the 52 who voted to acquit.

What the Trump presidency has shown is the lengths the Republican Party has been prepared to go with this win-at-all-costs ethos.

A broken politics, a broken democracy, a broken country.

Is the United States beyond the point of repair?

Will Trump win - YES - and let loose the Dogs of War on American politics and its democracy. His megalomaniac ego will be boundless and unstoppable in his second term and beyond. The only small chance of stopping him will be that the Democrats win both houses of Congress. mmmmm doubtful.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

Sadly, National will not be in Govt come the end of the year, but, Bridges will be rolled by Luxon and the will win 2023

Jacinda will smile and nod on camera announcing a working group to look into an issue and have her nodding dogs flanking her doing the same.

Trump will be re-elected

I predict Trump will not get re elected. If GOP are stupid enough to make him the candidate, I predict a high DEM voter turnout, bringing out the lazy DEM voters who will vote because he is there. The primary motivation is to oust Trump

Whats better though, someone with strong leadership and planning skills who calls things as they see it, or a lifetime politician like Winston calling all the shots?
