Wine. I have a bunch of bottles tagged as the "End of the World" wines.
And no I'm not joking
The first one is a fine aged Bordeaux, and the last one is an old wine bottle refilled with isopropyl alcohol with a label made of masking tape and Sharpie that says "Drink Last".

mdooher:timmmay:@MikeB4 that's good stuff but really not much water. 30L per person per day is recommended, 2L per person per day is essentials only. Link.
30l per day? I know plenty of British who wouldn't use that much in a month....

what are peoples plans if you cant get back to your house and get your emergency kits.
I keep a backpack in the car at all times with tins, water and other emergency survival type stuff that I hope would allow me to get to home base again if I had to walk. It's essentially a mini version of the larger kits others have already discussed.
Lurking ...
I kind of loosely practice bushcraft which is using the study of nature to live off nature, so just have a belt kit. Urban bushcraft though I think requires a different set of skills but using similar theory.
In terms of emergency stuff, in my day pack I carry a trauma kit, 1 micron water filter, bivvy, poncho and a bit of string. In the overnight pack I carry cooking stuff on top, some layers and a more complex sleep system. In the tramping pack, more food, some tools and a tarp. I also have a carbon fishing rod and pouch holding fly/spinning/float and sea fishing kit which attaches to my bag with my trekking poles.
I am still working on my winter kit.

I kept expecting to read "..and a Browning 30 caliber machine gun mounted on the roof...." at the end of that post.
Nope Cal .50 BMG in a Barrett is better suited for that purpose - to stop that 8m Motorhome.😄
