I have a package that was meant to arrive on the 2nd of July but hasn't updated since the 28th of June...

It's a USPS Express parcel coming to Auckland. Does anyone have any experience dealing with Express recently? Seems odd that it hasn't updated since departing Chicago?

I had something sent to me on April 4th. It literally just arrived last Friday. The tracking said it left Chicago 13 May and then didn't surface in NZ until late June.

On the parcel it had a sticker saying damaged, but everything inside was fine. Box was a bit battered but not damaged or holey.

Ouch. Thanks for the replies guys. So both of you were using Express, right? Wonder if a refund is possible seeing it is well passed the guaranteed delivery day...

First class priority I think. If it's a big seller then I'd go for a refund, if it's an individual just wait the two weeks.

Note that this is yet another case of US quality inflation, like "USDA Prime" = "bog-standard". In this case First Class is standard international mail with best-effort delivery, nothing more. Priority mail gets prioritised over First Class in theory but it goes by the same channels as bog-standard best-effort mail so it's usually no better. Originally First Class was for letters, Priority was for small packages, but they were the same thing behind the name.

For actual fast service you need to use Priority Mail Express.
