Journeyman:

scuwp: I still have no idea how dog poop floats across the ground magically and through small gaps in a fence. Defies all logic. Maybe older dried poop when hit with a lawnmower? The whole scenario seems very odd.

Is this your polite way of saying the neighbour is chucking the poo over the fence? Because if it is, I agree that's probably what is happening.

That, or it's dog wee running under the fence.

Not dog poop at all perhaps?  Maybe random cats in the neighbourhood?

I mow over and/or pick up cat poop on my lawn all the time.  Annoying but not losing sleep over it, nor am I particularly concerned about my health as I take basic precautions like not eating it and washing my hands.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

Geektastic: Can you report them to the SPCA? Leaving a dog outside on a chain ought to constitute animal cruelty.

The dog has a kenel and has enough chain to sleep in, on and around the kenel... Maybe it is a guard dog rather than a pet.

My first ever AM radio network connection was with a 1MHz AM crystal(OA91) radio receiver.

With adequate fencing, the chain should be unnecessary. Personally, I do not approve of keeping dogs like that, regardless of their role.
