Happy New Year Geekzone.  Wellington put on a stunner today, made for a great night on the waterfront to watch the fireworks.

Why do they always show the Auckland fireworks for New Year and not anywhere else? IMHO the Sky Tower spraying sparks is nowhere near as interesting as the airbursts that other places get. Heck, Orewa Beach has better fireworks than the Sky Tower.

There were fireworks?

Not for new year, I meant when they have them they're more impressive than the Sky Tower.

Happy New Year to all. May it be a better one than the last!

Totally agree. TVNZ should move their cameras to Wellington next year. Our daughter sent us her cell phone video of their display, it was streets ahead of what we saw on TV. The concert and all in Frank Kitts park was not to be missed, she says.
