Nothing can be excluded on the basis of probability.

You're right. But it's not practical to worry about the highly improbable. I *could* be an alien agent sent to spread disinformation. Or an alien deserter or refugee. Or an arms dealer -- put all your whiteware on your front lawn and I'll give you a raygun.

Does the whiteware have to be in working order to get a raygun?

FWIW, I do believe that there is extraterrestrial life somewhere out in the Universe... it's just too vast for it to be improbable. And maybe it evolved faster than us, and maybe it has developed faster-than-light travel (or a huge amount of patience). But there's a *lot* of universe for them to search through to find us.It becomes highly improbable that any two separately evolved life forms would meet.

Your statements run afoul of Fermi's Paradox

Frankv: is completely right about never ever meeting (weather or not they exist).

duckDecoy: The whole point of a paradox is that it is is a mental exercise to show that something the must be true in theory can be false in reality. So to run afoul of a pradox is mearly to state the phsical truth. Everytime you arrive at a destination, you run afoul of the Dichotomy paradox but you still arrive.

Does it have to be white? All of ours is metallic, gleams like a Starship.

I'll leave all that philosophy stuff to someone with a bigger brain than me to understand :)  But the gist of Fermi's argument is that the vastness of space is not a good enough reason, despite it seeming a perfectly reasonable conclusion.  It is quite interesting to discover why he says that (at least I found it interesting)

so...are we saying that these are not the aliens we should/could expect - or that we may not even get to see them at all, based on probability and the vastness of the universe?

How disappointing...

Yep Batman the main Thunderfoot video conclusion is parallax effect, of high flying fast plane , large bird below travelling slowly.
With the IR camera gimbal tracking the bird it makes the background ( Sea below ) zip by at equal or faster speed,
giving impression of a supersonic bird.
When camera gets to end of its travel, loses lock on object, and stops tracking bird zips off the screen at unimaginable speed.

The main thing with these is that you are not seeing what pilot sees in front of him, but the gimbaled IR camera which is rapidly panning.

The most recent one, the triangles agree with being out of focus artifacts.
Winking suggests normal aeroplane navigation lights.
The triangular iris used in that type of camera helps create this effect apparently.

Dullies seemed to have something in common with Mao, in a hatred of birds.

More recently,  its concerning latest spy birds would only encourage illegal fishers and such to shoot any bird they can.

Scientists have attached radar detectors to seabirds in the Indian Ocean, and the birds have unearthed shocking statistics about illegal fishing.
https://www.popularmechanics.com/science/a30694308/bird-cops-illegal-fishing/

""
Albatrosses wearing radar have found that 26 percent of local ships and 37 percent in international waters are hiding from observation.
""

The testimony of some 'eyewitnesses' is also questioned.
In the videos that the IR camera display data shows straight and level flight, and the pilot they interview describes an elaborate dogfight, twisting and turning at limits of aircraft capability.

Then you have Tucker Carlsons over the top reaction to Aircraft Carriers being probed by Aliens, complete with confused outrage face.
What is the government doing about it ?
Could that be jealousy ?

You see, the classic alien agent disinformation trick is to turn it into an absurd joke and distract everyone by getting them to start laughing.

Smart move to use albatrosses... fishermen aren't going to shoot them down.

I've been to Roswell, I saw it, it must be true.

The main issue with aliens is distance. The Centauri stars are about 4 light years away, closest stars. If you could travel at 1/10th the speed of light that's a 40 year one way trip as just one example. What Ive seen in docos is that civilisations in the Universe are too far apart, wont know about each other. Even radio communication is a problem, takes too long
