Linux, android, whatever, doesn’t matter. Everything is going up.

Soon the only stuff available will be old gen at the same price as what you could have bought it on release.

Yes, but there's competition between vendors on hardware in every area - except apple.

They charge what they like and people pay it.

Other stores will likely have them at old price if they have stock, but you'll want to hurry.

PB Tech has just changed the prices for the Neo in the last hour or two. From $1,129 to $1,379 for the base model.

I suspect hardware purchases will likely move to ongoing subscription basis similar to software.

I just did the same thing. Noel Leeming still have it advertised this morning $319 so I jumped on and bought one. Unfortunately out of stock in my local store so had to order it delivered. There's a chance they may not honour it but I'll find out in a few days if it turns up or there's a refund on my CC.

They will have to honor it because its not a pricing error. Not your fault they were slower to update to new prices from their supplier.

If they have no stock, they can cancel your order....

Whether in the future they then restock is a different issue...

Of course not. Many of the products that had their prices driven up by the chip shortage of half a decade ago are still at the higher prices. The cynical part of me says that the tech companies orchestrated the current shortage so that they could hike them all over again.
