Yatey: How did you find Maths today tardtasticx?

Found the general numeracy alright, sure I'll pass that
Algebra wasn't too bad, maybe an achieved if I'm lucky
Probability was surprisingly easy
Graphs I did crap in, suck at parabolas and all of that stuff
and geometric reasoning I didnt study up on, so I missed quite a few questions there.

English on Tuesday was a tough one though, 3 essays and a unfamiliar text paper in 3 hours, finished in two. Pro much. lol. After both english and maths, I had marks on my fingers from holding my pen so long and my wrists were just begging to get CTS. Are you doing NCEA this year? If so, how'd you go?

I have done English, Accounting and Maths. I have Science next Monday. Graphics has been sent away too :D.
Yeah I screwed up on Graphs and Geometric too! Complete fail at the equations and parabolas :(.
I just finished everything in the three hours for English, had Unfamiliar Text, Formal Writing, and 3 Essays! Haha
Accounting was Super Easy, had time to double check everything, and I still left early.
I feel like I did well in Number and Probability today, even though I haven't done well in Prob before.
Science on Monday! Arrrgh All three Bio, Chem, and Phys!!! Hopefully do well and pick up 15 credits.

I'm exactly the same for prob. I never did well and thats why I was surprised. Awesome you do graphics too. Size of those folders though!. HUGE. And its gonna be a huge change for me next year, only started using A2 paper in the last two weeks of term, and my teacher said we will be using A1 a lot next year for architecture. Looking forward to the science one though, happy we get 15 credits for 3 hours work. Know I will pass the Bio. Thats easy as for me. Chem I might get an achieved. I'm actually surprised there are a lot of people on GeekZone who are doing NCEA. I thought most of them were in their 20's and had full time jobs or go to uni. Proved me wrong. :D Do you think you will do well on monday too?

Yeah Fingers Crossed I think I will, Yeah I think I will do well in Bio as well.
A2 Paper!!?? We only used A3 during the whole Year! My Graphics teacher said that I have to increase the standard of my work next year haha. I want to do more Graphics on the Computer. I used Sketch Up for one brief during the year and it is a really effective way of showing off your concepts and final design.
How many credits do you have at the moment?

about 59 I think, teachers owe me another 4 i think? Then that 12 from graphics in Jan. So I need around 10 from the exams, I'm sure I can do it, 5 from bio, 3 from numeracy, 4 from 2 essays I'm sure I'll pass in english. And I'm done. But I'll try my hardest to get an extra 20 and make it to 100 to take some over to give myself a headstart next year. How about you?

Getting 100 won't give you a heaadstart next year. You can use 20 of the minimum 80 for Level 2.

All you need for next year is 60 credits - 20 at any level, and 40 at level 2 or higher

No, you need 80 from Level 1 to pass that level.

At level 2, you need 80 CREDITS. 60 of them from Level 2 and 20 from level 1. It wouldn't matter if you failed Level 1, but as long as you got 20 credits at that level they'll contribute to your Level 2 passing. Those 20 don't get taken from level 1, they are simply used twice. If you need them to pass level 1 (ie. you only just got 80 credits) that's fine, they'll be used again to contribute towards your level 2 cert.

At level two it's the same, you must have 80 credits, 60 of which must be L3 and 20 from L2+.

Facebook; Why achieve perfect results when you can tell the world that you made a sandwich?
As I write this I am currently in the middle of "studying" for my upcoming english exam (having just aquired a facebook account to prevent me from studying I feel obliged to write something as a tribute) I have no doubt many of my readers (if I have any) will know what facebook is or indeed have one. For those of you who don't know, people join facebook for one of 3 reasons:

1-Everyone else is on it

or

2-It gives them the oppertunity to look at photos of other people without said people knowing

or

3-It isn't revision

Now I joined facbook for the third reason, I just couldn't face a whole day of study without anything else to do but I am also aware that one or two people I know may have joined facebook for the secon reason, this leads me to beleive that facebook is now a force of good in this world as it gives would be stalkers the oppertunity to just sit in thier house and salivate as opposed to following thier target with a camera which places them on the street just where we don't want them. This is also beneficial because it keeps these otherwise small fry jailbait creeps out of jail where they simply cost us lots of money. However most people (if there are any) reading this blog will identify with reason 3; facebook isn't revision. If you give the average teen the choice of changing thier facebook status or revising, I would be shocked if any teen even considered the choice. Why do something useful and potentially helpful to your future career when you can tell 300 people you hardly know that Shakespear is gay? It seems that facebooks popularity is largely based on the unpopularity of exams. That is the more you hate exams, the more you love facebook and vice versa.

Finally it is important to note that people who joined because of the first option (everyone is on facebook) are usually the people who fail thier exams. Obviously facebook isn't good for your academic career ut at least its better than twitter (to be covered in a later rant.)

I think this guy has a fair point, many people are going on the internet to avoid studying. It's so distracting.

it is. Studying is just so boring too... hate it so much. Exept when we are all outside the exam hall with our books out trying to get a few last notes burnt into our minds before exam starts. lol
