Sole: Agreed wiv NonprayingMantis, common sense!.

Tell me common sense, in the photo on page 1. What should the white van do if he needs to turn left and the straight traffic light is green?

It's not a problem, there are never that many buses in the bus lane anyway.  They seem to be empty 90% of the time.

Not up symonds between 3:30 and 5 - its full of busses with people jumping out to wave at the correct one etc. Its really nuts. add to that the a..h..s on their 50cc scooters pushing thru and cyclists and I think that thru to kingsland is the most frustrating piece of road in auckland.

Symonds St is best avoided most of the time!

That's one of the main reasons the company I worked for moved out of Symonds St  the other week..  Absolute crap since the bus lanes went in..

What?! Look at the photo! There are three buses even in its narrow field of view. Plus within 50m there will be other cars in the lane. When it's even slightly busy, there'll be a queue of vehicles extending longer than 50m.

Even when closely packed, you can only fit 4 buses in 50 metres.
